SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Facing collegiate teams from California, Oregon and Nevada, the Pioneer women's and men's track teams held their own at the Hornet Invitational on March 19.
Nancy Velazquez finished 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:35.20 to lead the women's showing.
Tiffany Duffy followed in 12th place with a 2:38.07 clocking.
Nastassia Hamor recorded her second fastest time of 5:15.85 in the 1500 meters to finish 18th
out of 33 competitors in the race.
On the men's side, freshman Justin Landry finished 19th out of 31 runners in the 100 meters. Landry, competing in his second meet of the season, recorded a time of 11.33 bettering his mark of 11:59 at the Aggie Open the week before.
Chris Gallagher ran a time of 2:10.29 to place 18th in the 800 meters.
Both Pioneer track teams will compete at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival to be held on March 25.
