WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -
Kara Yamamoto and Zuly Diaz were selected to the 2012 All-CCAA Women's Soccer Team on November 1.  The senior captains received Honorable Mention recognition.

Yamamoto led the Pioneers in scoring with 15 points on three goals and nine assists. She had two game-winning goals from her midfield position.

Diaz anchored a solid Pioneer backline during the 2012 season. She scored the Pioneers' lone goal in a 1-1 tie with Cal State Los Angeles. Both Yamamoto and Diaz are four-year players for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers finished fifth in the CCAA North Division with a 2-11-1 record. East Bay was 6-11-1 for the season.

U.C. San Diego placed a conference high six players on the (CCAA) All-Conference teams. Cal State Stanislaus junior forward Karenee Demery was honored as the CCAA's Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Year, while U.C. San Diego senior Ellen Wilson earned Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year. Emiiria Salzmann Dunn, from Sonoma State, was named CCAA Coach of the Year.
