HAYWARD, Calif. -- Cal State East Bay head men's basketball coach Gus Argenal has announced the addition of Jamal Ford to round out his roster for the 2014-15 season. A 6'5" forward, Ford joins the Pioneers after two standout seasons at City College of San Francisco (CCSF).

"Jamal is a proven winner at every level," said Argenal, "and he has played two seasons for Justin Labagh, who built CCSF into a state power. Jamal does many of the little things that make teams and programs successful. Most exciting is that he's still improving, and he brings a worker's mindset every day."

In 2012-13, Ford was a member of the CCSF squad that finished 28-0 in the regular season, the first undefeated season in the school's history. The Rams finished the year 31-1, suffering their lone defeat in the semifinals of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championship tournament.

Prior to attending junior college, Ford had an outstanding career at prep powerhouse Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco. He helped lead Sacred Heart to back-to-back-to-back Central Coast Section championships in 2008, 2009, and 2010. The Irish also captured the CIF State Championship in 2009.

Ford averaged 13 points and eight rebounds per game as a high school senior. He was named honorable mention All-West Catholic Athletic League and also claimed All-City San Francisco and All-Bay Area honors. He was selected as MVP of the 2010 San Francisco All-City Game as well as the 2009 Rancho Cordova Christmas Tournament.

Ford was nominated for the McDonalds High School All-America Team. He was picked to the All-Bay Area Team in ESPN Magazine's "Rise" edition, and he was named Top-20 at the ESPN Ranked & Future 150 Camp as well as the Double Pump Camp.

A native of Oakland, Calif., Ford has played for winning teams his entire career and will provide valuable depth and versitility for a revamped Pioneer team that features 10 new players in 2014-15.
