Alyssa Tenney ave been named the Cal State East Bay Athletes of the Week, sponsored by the DoubleTree by Hilton Pleasanton at the Club, for Jan. 5-11, 2015.

Tenney Named Female AOWThe native of Clayton, Calif. was the best offensive player for the Pioneers in a dramatic 55-53 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills last Friday night. He scored a game-high 12 points, going 4-for-6 from three-point range, and added five rebounds and two assists. After five points and four boards against Cal State L.A. on Saturday, Marr finished the weekend with nine total rebounds.
Marr shot 55 percent from the field (6-for-11) and 71 percent from long distance (5-for-7), both of which were tops on the team. He has scored in double figures in three of the last five games, and midway through his rookie season, Marr is fifth on the Pioneers in points, second in rebounds, and second in shooting percentage.
Tenney won all three of her backstroke races this past weekend. She won the 100-yard and 200-yard distances against Colorado Mesa and Fresno Pacific, followed the next day by a sub-minute 100 back victory over swimmers from Division I Fresno State. Individually she racked up 39 points with three wins and three second place finishes.
"Alyssa continues to swim well and was excellent again this weekend," East Bay Head Coach
Ben Loorz complimented. "Alyssa's 400 individual medley race was her best dual meet performance this season" as she finished second in a time of under 4 minutes, 39 seconds.
Men's basketball resumes play on the road Thursday, Jan. 15, at Humboldt State. Women's swimming will host Azusa Pacific on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m.
