San Francisco, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team fell to Notre Dame De Namur in their first game of the SF State Thanksgiving Classic on Friday evening at The Swamp, as the Argonauts outscored the Pioneers 35-28 in the second half.

East Bay drops to 3-4 overall after playing their fourth non-conference match away from Pioneer Gymnasium. Notre Dame De Namur moves to 2-3 on the season with the victory.

The Pioneers finished the game with the advantage in a number of areas despite the final outcome of the contest. Junior guard
Elayshia Woolridge (Oakland, Calif.) led East Bay with 15 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field in her second consecutive start of the season. She added four steals, two rebounds and one three-point basket on a team-high 31 minutes on the floor.

CSUEB was outscored the NDNU in paint points 34-24 and points off turnovers 18-9 after forcing 15 turnovers from the Argonauts. The Pioneers also a 28-24 halftime lead after after shooting 42.3% from the field.

Sophomore forward
Morgan Greene (Phoenix, Ariz.) collected her fourth straight double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. For Greene, it was her sixth double-double of the season. She shot 5-for-8 from the floor with two steals in 21 minutes of action.

The Pioneers could not find their stroke from beyond the arc shooting at just a 11.1% (2-for-18) clip from long distance from the game. The Argonauts on the other hand shot 40% from three-point range. And although the foul totals were fairly even, Notre Dame De Namur attempted 10 more free throws than East Bay did.

The difference in the game was East Bay's inability to knock down shots, particularly once they got a lead in the second half. The Pioneers ended up shooting just 10% from three-point land and 16.7% from the charity stripe.

Kayla Blair (Fairfield, Calif.) tallied seven points (3-for-7), four rebounds and two assists on 21 minutes off the bench. She went a perfect 1-for-1 from the foul line.
Janae Chamois (Eastvale, Calif.) finished with six points and one three-point field goal while
Chloe Kellum (Long Beach, Calif.) chipped in five points and grabbed six rebounds fro the Pioneers.

The Pioneers will take on Fresno Pacific at 3:30 p.m. in The Swamp to wrap up the SF State Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday, November 25.
