TURLOCK, Calif. – In the final day of the 2023 Warrior Classic, the Cal State East Bay women's basketball team defeated Academy of Art, 81-69.

Taylor Linzie and
Jaela Richardson reached a double-double in the victory for the Pioneers.
Following the Warrior Classic, Richardson was named to the All-Tournament Team after her performances through both games played this week.
The first quarter was very evenly played, as the Pioneers finished with a 14-13 lead.
A 3-pointer from
Payton Sterk scored the first six points of the second quarter, separating the Pioneers from the Urban Knights. Although ART U climbed back to within one point, trailing 22-21 at the 7:19 mark of the quarter, 13 unanswered points by CSUEB reestablished the separation in points. At halftime, the Pioneers led 39-31.
Although ART U climbed back within one point in the third quarter, the lead for Cal State East Bay was not relinquished, as the Pioneers led 57-51 heading into the final quarter.
The lead was built to double digits for the Pioneers in the fourth quarter, as much as 17. Cal State East Bay finished the game with an 81-69 win.
- Sterk led the Pioneers in scoring with 20 points after going 6-for 17 from the floor, 4-for-10 from beyond the arc and made four free throws.
- Rosemon reached double figures in scoring for the first time in her career with 14 points. She also had a career-high in rebounds with 15 for a double-double.
- Taylor Linzie and Jaela Richardson each had exactly 13 points and 10 rebounds.
- Defensively, Richardson had a block and a steal, and with three steals was Camryn Washington.
- As a team, the Pioneers shot 38.3 percent from the floor, 29.4 percent from beyond the arc and went 14-for-18 from the free throw line.
- Cal State East Bay outrebounded ART U, 49-39.
